World Boxing has been given temporarily recognition as the International Federation of International Government by the International Olympic Committee.
Boxing is not currently part of the Los Angeles 2028 program, and the creation of a new global body was the biggest obstacle to the inclusion of sports in the following games.
IOC has played boxing in the past Olympic Games after the International Boxing Association (IBA) was suspended as the World Sports Authority in 2019 regarding governance, financing, judgment and ethical issues.
The Russian leadership was then stripped of its position in June 2023 due to a failure to implement the reforms.
Global boxing was formed in April 2023 and now has 78 members on five continents, including Great Britain.
IOC said: “The evaluation (IOC) concluded that global boxing has continued to make progress regarding the specific areas of consideration,” IOC said.
IOC’s global boxing has fulfilled many main criteria for interrogating recognition, including obtaining adequate members across five continents.
It also applied the mathematical integrity process during Paris 2024, as it provides independent supervision structures and good judgment, as well as assurances of revenues and participation in the global anti -doping law.
